Stairway is an awesome song with an awesome solo.. i took a while to tab just because its so long and i didnt want to make a mistake.. if you have any questions about the tab or corrections, just emaill me at tempy99@hotamil.com.  I would appriciate any feedback you have, but if you do have feedback, please email me rather then adding me to your MSN as a lot of people have done.  My list is almost full, I hope you understand.  It has also come to my attention that some people have been copying my tab and posting it elsewhere. The two guitars continue into this section. Walloping (a technical term
meaning hit very hard &) the strings using the full barre sounds pretty
good. The lead basically follows the bass. You can do both (like you
can tweak the slide riff with one guitar)
 
I think i can probably tabascii the bass now, ive listened to it enough.
But ive had it for this song!! unless someone really needs it please dont
ask just yet.. Ive gotten transfixed by a few other zepplin tracks
that were on the album, their slower more melodic stuff like no quarter
down by the seaside etc..

a few things, the chords on the solo are six string barre chords on the 5th, 3rd and 1st root, they are major an the 3rd and 1st, and minor on the 5th

This is an amazing tab but there is a problem which is definite and maybe a few others but the one which troubles me is on the 12 string part. I have a semi acoustic 12-string yamaha from 1971 and it's brilliant and it was recently repaired so i know it is in tune.

After the 12 string verse it goes

b| 5 3 4 < this 4 i think is wrong

g|5 5 4

on a 12string the tuning is weird (or wierd lol) because the e a d and g string are tuned normal with the string next to it tuned and octave higher (that is how they get the chorus sound) but the next b and e strings are tuned normal with the same string next to it or the strings would just snap if they were tuned higher and that's why I reckon there shouldn't be that last 4 I jus played it now cause my friend and I want to learn to play stairway to heaven and I'm not sure about this. So if I find out what to do then I'll post a reply. Other people who have a 12 string let me know what you think.

I've noticed that you don't make the corrections we suggest. I don't know if it is because you are too lame ot just too proud, but it's annoying me. We just want to help you make the tab better, so it would be nice if you at least went through our comments to se if there is something you have missed in your tab. Or else someone will have to write a new one, which is quite unnecessary.

okay, its not just the picking of these notes, watch how i have changed this...the 7 and the 5 are together because you finger pick the notes, it sounds alot better than just regular picking it, you get the full sound

Whomever penned this instrumental performance is a complete idiot. The chords in this song do not suit the key and Mr. John Page should have used more liberally the F#m7sus4 during the third and twelth movements. The Em7add11 also should have been applied more conservatively to build to accentuate more key changes, perhaps C major to F#mixolidian. This musical piece does not require much skill, I encourage everyone to stay away from all Johns work. Until such a time he learns to decrushendo and suspended # chords more conservatively, to accentuate the ralluendo in the peice. Chromatasism should not be used as much as it is, as it sounds like ya mum.
