Title: What I Got
Artist: Sublime

Chords:
D: (xx0232)
G: (320033)

(There are only two chords through the entire song. He just picks them kind of randomly, you don't have to be accurate but you should pick them a bit like this)

    D G D G
E|--------------------------------------------------| / = slide up
B|--------3---3---------3--------3---3-------3------| \ = slide down
G|--------2---2------0----0------2---2-----0-0-0----| h = hammer-on
D|--0-0----------------------0-0-------------0---0--| p = pull-off
A|--------------------------------------------------| b = bend
E|---------------3-3---------------------3-3--------| r = release bend

Bassline:
(It's simple but it sounds very cool. It's the same throughout the song.)
     D G
G|------------------------------------|
D|---------------4h7------------------|
A|---5---5---5-------------------3----|
E|--------------------3---3---3-------|

Verse 1:
D G
Early in the morning
D G
Rise into the street
D G D G
Light me up that cigarette and I strap shoes on my feet
D G
Got to find a reason
D G
reason things went wrong
D G D G
Got to find a reason why my money's all gone
D G
I got a Dalmatian
D G
I can still get high
D G D G
I can play the guitar like a motherfuckin' riot

D------------------------------------------------------------------12---|
A-----------------------------------------------------------------------|
E-----------------------------------------------------------------------|

Verse 2:
D [guitar stops, bass keeps playing]
Life is too short so love the one ya got

'cause you might get run over or ya might get shot
D G
Never have the battle with the bulletproof vest
D G
Never start static I get it off my chest
D G
Take a small example, a tip from me
D G
Take all of your money, give it up to charity
D G
Love is what I got, within my reach
    D G
the Sublime style's still straight from Long Beach
   D G
It comes back to you, you're going to get what you deserve
D G
Try and test that, you're bound to get served
D G
Love's what I got, don't start a riot
       D G
you'll feel it when the dance gets hot

Chorus: [In this chorus you play the GUITAR-SOLO (above) again while the singer is singing]

D G D
Loving, is what I got
         G
I said remember that
D G D
Loving, is what I got
         G
I said remember that

(After the chorus come some weird sounds that I don't know how to play. Just let the guitar be silent and let the bass play 'D G' 4 times)

Verse 3:
D G
I don't cry when my dog runs away
D G
I don't get angry at the bills I have to pay
D G
I don't get angry when my mom smokes pot
D G
Hits the bottle and goes back to the rock
D G
Fuck it, fight it, it's all the same
D G
Living with Louie Dog's the only way to stay sane
D G D [guitar stop, weird sound]
Let the loving, let the loving come back to me

Chorus: (no guitar solo in this chorus)
D G D
Loving, is what I got
         G
I said remember that
D G D
Loving, is what I got
         G
I said remember that

Outro:
D [strum once, then stop]
Loving, is what I got

I said remember that
D [strum once, then stop]
Loving, is what I got

I said remember that

(the rest of the outro is just repeating the chorus like usual many times, but there's a lot of picking in it that I've transcribed below)

     D G D G D G D G
E|-------------------------------------------------------------------
B|---7--------7--------7--------7--------7---7b8-7---7b8-7----5--3---
G|------7--------7--------7--------7---------------------------------
D|---------7--------7--------7--------7------------------------------
A|-------------------------------------------------------------------
E|-------------------------------------------------------------------

    D G D G D G D [chords stop]
E---------------------------------------------------------------|
B---3---\1-1-0--------------0------7--------7--------7----------|
G-----------------2-2----2------2-----7--------7----------------|
D----------------------------------------7--------7-------------|
A---------------------------------------------------------------|
E---------------------------------------------------------------|
                                           "...I got, I got, I got..."

Then comes a distorted electric guitar that plays this:
     D G D G D G D G D
E|---------------------------------------------------8---7-7-5-------|
B|-------------------------------------------------------------------|
G|-----------------------------------------7b8-7---------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------------------7---|
A|---5---------------------------------5-------------------------5---|
E|---------8-8-7-5-5----7-8--7-5-------------------------------------|

I do believe that the 12 you have tabbed on the high e-string of the solo is, in fact, a 10. I am not 100% sure, but I personally think it sounds better.

The "wierd noises" that you're talking about, is when he runs the pick up and down the string... dont know if that'll help anyone

I agree with Marl1nMan5on... The 12 should be changed to a 10 on the high e string. I am 100% sure that is the correct way to play the solo.

i'm sure you heard this, but the 12th fret in the solo should be changed to the 10th:

E|--------------10-----------

B|--------10h12----12-12p10--

G|--11h12--------------------

D|---------------------------

A|---------------------------

E|---------------------------
