umm actually the 8p7 part is needed, maybe you should listen to the song more closely, it is the part where it first switches to a heavy feel. but in the book it says that its not pulloffs he picks every note of it. for example

8-7-8-7-8-7-8 but pulloffs work as well and it makes it easier.
