alright you guys, ist me rexxdoggy. on my other file. look, they did in fact use 5 guitars, FOR RECORDING. but that bill dude is right, WHEN PLAYING LIVE, there is a differnce between recording the song and playing it live. trust me, they RECORDED this song with 5 different guitars.

God am i confused dude! In the band, Green Day, the have 3 band members...which means when playing live-or anywhere where not recording-they have one guitarist, one bassist, and one drummer (3 people!). And yes i do agree with the tabber that Green Day recorded this song using 5 guitars...even if they do have 2 guitar (which I [me, myself, moi, me!!] think they have one) that would sound WAY!!!! different if they were to play it live (way different from the 5 guitars [recorded] and the 2 [or 1] live).

the tab is wrong becuase your supposed to play the first CHORDS not power chords 4 times each and u only have them down 2 times each. tab it right next time. and dont be to confident.

Ok - first off i thought that there was the main guitarist (Billie Joe) and the second guitarist (James White) but it's very possible that they're the guitarists you see when they play live. Man y cant sum of u peeple xcept the fact that their might just be 5 guitarists. Anyway ur also missing the point of this tab - If Jeff perkin did transcribe it then well done because it souinds good to me - but if he tabbed it out himself then these tabs r EXCELENT. Anyway good tab man!!

this tabs a little confusing but its pretty accurate, and for all you guys debating about the number of guitars, if you watch them live, there's a recording playing 3 of the guitar parts, billie joe only plays the chorus,background solo part, and outro, and then they have a second guitar on stage playing the solo and the acoustic stuff, thats it

I dont have enough time at the mo to correct this, but it is most definitly not perfect, i got my friends together to play it and it didnt sound quite like the record, when im not strapped for time i will post a few adjustments :)

Ok first off just because there are 5 different guitar sounds doesn't mean they used five guitars. For a live show they just most likely use a bunch of pedals(including eq) and switch back and forth forth between the different sounds.


About the whole acoustic thing with an electric acoustic you can actully get it to sound distorted and everything and just turn it off when you want an acoustic sound. Also why would you want to tab it for 5 guitars. Most bands don't have 5 guitarists and you never record stuff unless you wrote it so there would be no point in tabbing it for 5 guitars.

whoever said you play the chords not the power chords is wrong...becaues thoes power chords at the start of the tab you are supposed to use a tremlo effect or something that does the same type of thing...green day used a computer to chop it up when they recorded the song
