[VERSE]
A5 C5
I don't need to be a global citizen

F5 G5
because I'm blessed by nationality

A5 C5
I'm a member of a growing populace

F5 G5
we enforced our popularity

A5 C5
there are things that seem to pull us under and

F5 G5
there are things that drag us down

A5 C5
but there's a power and a vital presence

F5 E5
that's lurking all around

[CHORUS]
A5 C5 F5 G5
we've got the american jesus

A5 C5 F5 G5
see him on the interstate

A5 C5 D5 F5
we've got the american jesus

A5 G5 F5
he helped build the president's estate

[VERSE]
I feel sorry for the earth's population
'cuz so few live in the u.s.a.
at least the foreigners can copy our morality
they can visit but they cannot stay
only precious few can garner our prosperity
it makes us walk with renewed confidence
we've got a place to go when we die
and the architecht resides right here

[CHORUS]
we've got the american jesus
postering the nationalty
we've got the american jesus
overwhelming millions every day

[BRIDGE]
he's the farmer's barren fields
the force the army wields
the expression in the faces of the starving millions
the power of the man
he's the fuel that drives the clan
he's the motive and the conscience of the murderer
he's the preacher on tv
the false sincerity
the form letter that's written by the big computers
he's the nuclear bombs
and the kids with no moms
and I'm fearful that he's inside me

we've got the american jesus...

[rhythm 2 8x]
And I know you're watching everything I do
Call me threat to your children, call me

Good, this is pretty close but 2 things:

1 - In the intro, replace the "5" on the A string by an open D string, it is easier to pay and sound better

2 - Why don't you put a tabbed representation of the chords before using it... what is A5 is it

D-7

E-7

A-5 ? I would like to know.

Remember that a tabbed song is primary for the beginner and most of 'em doesn't know how to read chords.

The last 3 lines belong to "A Walk".

I would like to defend the honor of the creator of the tab. A5 is not 057700, that is D5. Besides, mxtabs has a huge chord database if you ever run into trouble. I printed it all off, and it was a big help albeit a lot of paper.

in the intro end is

a|-0---0h2-3--2-7

In defense of this tab, on the Intro, it may be easier to hit an open A, but then you get a bit of overlap with the fretted 3, unless you're real careful. It's just easier to reach a bit for that 5th fret.

(Copy this into notepad to read it correctly.)

At the end of the Intro:

e--------------------------

B--------------------------

G--------------------------

D-------------2~~--2200----

A-0-0h2h3-2h3----------3322

E--------------------------

The last eight notes are actually the bass, but if you're the lead, it's nice flair to throw it in.

The rhythm of the song: Play the first bar a bunch, 8 strokes per note, then the second bar at the end of verse.

e---------|---------

B---------|---------

G---5-----|---5-----

D-7-5-3-5-|-7-5-3-2-

A-7-3-3-5-|-7-3-3-2-

E-5---1-3-|-5---1-0-

The Chorus: Play the first bar a bunch, 4 strokes per note, then at the end of the chorus, play the second bar.

e---------|---------------

B---------|---------------

G---5-----|---5-7-10------

D-7-5-3-5-|-7-5-7-10-7-5-3

A-7-3-3-5-|-7-3-5-8--7-5-3

E-5---1-3-|-5--------5-3-1

is better in this form:
