DIG (Bassline)
As recorded by |Mu|Dv|Ay|Ne|
(From the 2000 Album L.D. 50)

Words and Music by |Mu|Dv|Ay|Ne|
Transcribed by HaMsTr

If you wanna transpose it up to the Key of Cm and play it in C tuning go for it.
Personally, I think it sounds better that way... And I added that one little low
string that everyone complains about that he never uses in this song except in
the muted strums...

during the bridge part Ryknow plays some sort of chords. there are other stuff in your tab that is wrong. Just watch the video a couple times, and you will see what i mean
HaMsTrHaMsTr Unknown Date
Dude bands dont really play in their videos take Alien Ant Farm for example

he sits and slaps half of it but in reality

none of it is slapped. You can't learn a

song from watchin a video
Cort5StringerCort5Stringer Unknown Date
Have you ever seen Mudvayne live in the front row right infront of Ryknow? Many a times I have, and he does play those two notes and he does play it different than what you have tabbed out.
ScoobyVsSnoopyScoobyVsSnoopy Unknown Date
Um ... OK people Ryknow play's a

5 string but I saw him play it

live and he plays a 4 string

for the song cause it's in

standard so i hope that helped

and im pretty damn sure about that.
MinusBlindfoldMinusBlindfold Unknown Date
People play things different live than

in their albums he tabbed the album version

so back off
HaMsTrHaMsTr Unknown Date
No dude You have ur chords reversed i satand watched the music video and a live

video and he played it that way both times

I\\\\\\\'ve made a few changes and I think they\\\\\\\'re

pretty much right they\\\\\\\'re close i\\\\\\\'m at least 99% correct and Snoopy I have seen RyKnOw Play live and he uses Warwick FIVE STRING which is tuned (G,C,G,C,F)and you are right he does not play his low string in that song in the video he does a slide from the 2nd fret in the chorus but not live i think live its on his C string And Green day I saw him

play that pop live. And yea I know you

can\'t learn songs by videos for example when he strums the mutes in the bridge he

doesnt do that live.
ScoobyVsSnoopyScoobyVsSnoopy Unknown Date
dude so have i seen ryknow play

live and he plays a

4 string an if it is

5 he just doesnt use the

low b string

This is the most accurate tab I've seen for this song so far. GreenDay16, I know for fact that the high notes are done on bass cuz ive seen mudvayne live and the sound of that those high notes make do not at all resemble a guitar's sound.
guitarbarb87guitarbarb87 Unknown Date
greenday how can the guitar high notes when its a bass pop. yes a bass pop the bassplayer does it and this bassist wants to make a dig tab accurate and he did a good job. watc ryknow play it live and look at the tab they r the same
puppetz_85puppetz_85 Unknown Date
Dude, I really hate to tell you this, but...

1) Ryknow plays a 5 string

2) It's in standard tuning (B E A D G)

3) He DOES do the pings.

4) Despite the wrong tuning, your tab is extremely accurate.

5) At the end of each verse, he does fills that consist of slapping muted strings and popping notes. His last of these 4 fills is KILLER.

If you don't believe me, check out the video of Mudvayne doing Dig at the BDO in sydney. It's available from Morpheus, and i'm sure countless other media sharing devices. I'm sure about the tuning, because Gurrg tunes his guitar down to B. Overall, good tab.
puppetz_85puppetz_85 Unknown Date
Look for those of you who don't believe me........

HE DOES PLAY A STANDARD TUNED 5 STRING. If you want proof, on morpheus, download the video of mudvayne doing dig live at BDO. you can CLEARLY SEE he IS using the low string, and that he plays chords on the 'you ain't changin me' part. if you like (you'll need broadband for this one) i'll SEND YOU THE VIDEO. simply e-mail me at dystopya85@aol.com
Meegz1120Meegz1120 Unknown Date
Ok, theres a lot of stuff going around about this tab and song. I just want to say, This song is played with a 5 string, Ryknow only uses Warwick 5 strings. This song is not tuned to standard because they do not change tuning throughout the songs, however the tuning is not the same as guitar. I too have seen them live, and i have the video (not the music video) the video that was recorded in peoria, IL. Now the intro (and the other 'pops') are played on the 1st and 2nd strings. there is so much more i could get into, but dot want to. Tabs arent made to be exact or how its played by the artist, just as a useful guide or reference.
MuDv05MuDv05 Unknown Date
Alright all of u need 2 back off. None of what any of u are saying matters. The guy can tab the song in however many strings that he wants and in what ever drop tunning he wants even if it makes it harder for everyone else to play
kentoskentos Unknown Date
RyKnow (Ru-d) uses a 5 string that is droped a full step. For their new album Ru-d plays a 4 string tuned

C,G,C,F
iskatestonediskatestoned Unknown Date
OK! u ppl dont know what u r talking about, so i am going to lay it down straight. Ryknow plays a 5 string tuned to F# B F# B E. Ru-d plays a four string tuned to CGCF. i know they are the same person, but they is what they play. u cannot base anything based on a music video or a live performance. because alot of the times they are not accurate. ryknow does not use the bottom string during dig. and this is for Greenday16. why dont you just tab dig out for yourself since your so right. ryknow does play chords. u ppl are so dumb
pelvicthrustpelvicthrust Unknown Date
Hi, Okay everyone, I'm going around and I'm gonna put an end to the Mudvayne tuning controversy.

1) In L.D. 50, he uses a 5 string tuned to:

E

B

F#

B

B

he slaps the 5th (tighter) string and plays on the 4th (looser) string. This I am certain because on the Dig DVD you can clearly see he does this. And I saw them live in Madison and he varies with a 4 and 5 string on various LD 50 songs.

2) They do play all their songs in drop C live (at least from the peoria DVD on)

and 3)

Their new album is in drop C and when they play live he does vary again between 4 and 5 strings on the new album songs too.

So this means he tunes his 4th and 5th strings the same.

THX for the read

Hey man your tab is correct but the tunning would not be BBF#BE.

It would be F#BF#BE(look in the Bass Player Mag on Ryan.

so that it is more clear when to slap and pluck and I totally agree with pelvicthrust's theory on the tuning
