Author/Artist: Creed
Title: My Sacrifice
Album: Weathered
Tuning: D A D A D D (low to high)
Transcribed by: Adam Strachn
Email: CookieMonster912@hotmail.com

To make all of you happy I made this in the DADADD tuning. It sounds the same
but I have always loved how the two high stings are in unison. Well, I saw him
play this on Jay Leno and on the VH1 Awards and this is how he plays it. I'm
not sure about the clean part but in the music video it looks like he plays it that way.

One more thing; when Mark plays this song live he doesn't really add the high
e and b strings on the chorus. He just plays the open chords and bar chords as
I have them tabbed. But on the album he hits the bottom strings more. Mainly
because it is layered guitars. If you are playing this add little fills between
each chord. You have to have a pretty good ear to do this though and still keep
in time.

Notes:

Intro - Play this with your fingers, it sounds like he uses a delay effect.

Verse - Octave chords, weeeeee!

Chorus - Listen to the song closely for the timing of how to play the chords.
         I added some of the stuff he did live on Jay Leno.

Bridge – Easy octave riffs, simple yet effective.

Other - The clean chorus after the bridge is played with a phase shifter;
        I think, And has some picking in it. The rest is pretty simple.

Then the bridge riffs into the end

Outro -
I don't have the outro . . . just let the guitar feedback forever like Mark does live. Or just end on the open D chord and let it ring forever and a day.

Tab Key-
h = hammer on
P = pull off
~ = let note(s) ring
/ slide up or down
x = mute sting(s)
^ = harmonics
* = palm mute

Your Corrections

Your tab is great and the tuning is defenently dadadd (low to high) but the beggining is a little off. I think it sounds better like this

d I------------0------------------------

d I--------------0----------------------

a I---4------------4---------------12---

D I------4-----------4-----------12-----

A I-2-------2------------0----10--------

its sounds pretty close.

i believe you would tune the b-string up to d, and the e string down to it.

WHY IS EVERYONE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE DODGAMN TUNING!!!!!!!! THE MAN SAID IT WAS DADADD TUNING WHICH IS OPEN D5!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHATS THE PROBLEM?!? HUH?!? TELL ME PLEASE. HE CLEARLY STATED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TAB AND I QUOTE "To make all of you happy I made this in the DADADD tuning" THERE SEE READ A LITTLE BEFORE YOU COMPLAIN YOU BUNCH OF ASSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fender_freakfender_freakUnknown Date
The intro should be a little bit diffrent:

I---------0-----------------------------I----------0-------------0-(0)-0--------

I---4-------4/-screech-12-------12------

I-----4------4/--()--12-----------12(12)

I-2-----2------0---10-------------------

I---------------------------------------

And then the second picking part should be like this:

I---------0-----------------------------

I----------0-------------0-(0)-0--------

I---0-------4/-screech-12-------12------

I-----4------4/--()--12-----------12(12)

I-2-----2------0---10-------------------

I---------------------------------------

Thats what sounds good to me, personally.

Great tab man! Ive got my hands on the whole weathered album tab and my sacrifice is tabbed in dropped d. ive bn tryin to submit it for a while now so hopefully it will be up soon!!!
JustinTreeJustinTreeUnknown Date
all you people who are complaining about the people saying it is supposed to be in DADADD tuning are right, he did state that it is at the beginning. however, he also stated that it was to make those people happy, which suggests that they made those comments before he put it in DADADD.
