Been waiting for someone to post a really good version of this song here for a while...everyones is hard to..comprehend..to me anyways...so im doing this for ppl that r stuypid like me....

normal tuning, low to high E A D G
^=bend
~=let it ring....

come in at 12sec after "heyey mamma I say..."
00:12
main riff:
|------------------5^----7-9-5h7p5---5^------------------------|
|--------5-6-7-------7-------------77---7---5-77---------------|
|------7--------7----------------------------------5-7-3-5-0---|
|---------------------------------------------------------------|

other part thats like the main riff.lets call it the nutty part..:
|----------|----------|---------|--------------5^-79-5h7p5----5^----------------|
|-------5--|------5---|------5--|----------567--7----------77---7-5-77----------|
|--567---7-|--567---7-|--567--7-|--567--57----7-----------------------5-7-3-5-0-|
|-7---7----|-7---7----|-7---7---|-7---------------------------------------------|

after that part, this is played optional though. Kinda hard to keep rythem.there half notes i think. Try it out! during frist guitar solo type thing
|-------------------------------------------------------|
|-------------------------------------------------------|
|-----3-0 ~ -----3-4-0 ~ ------3-4-0-3-0 ~ -------------|
|-----------------------------------------------3 5-----|

then this part is played: repeat as necessary
|-----------------------------------------|
|-----------------------------------------|
|-----0--------3--------0---x--7-x-5------|
|-0-3---3--0-3---3--0-3---3-x-------------|
thats also played at the end solo part-fade out on an A7 or E0

its been great, i think this is the first actaul correct bass tab...rate it if u like, critisize if u like. Thats ok. Have funwith this song. Its the best riff ever created in music, i think.

I agree with you Thatsy, this is the greatest riff ever written in music history. Anyways, great job with the tab.

it seems to me like the 5-7-3-5-0 part at the end of the main riff is on the d string still

Good job on the tab man. Its mostly correct. However, the part they play where page later solos over is wrong. it can be hard to hear, but if you listen you can hear it. turn up the bass on the eq and get some good speakers:

g----------------------------------

d----------------------------------

a--0--0---0-03-0----0--0---x-7-x-5

e---33-3---3----31---33-3----------

sometimes he only plays the 3's on the 'e' string once instead of twice. also, the first time through when page is soloing, he doesnt go down after the 3 on the 'a' string (the second grouping).

hope this helps you guys play better and more accurate. your tab helped me get the basics down.
